But selecting at random, even just getting \u201canother one like the last one\u201d, skips some steps that we know from experience are important.<\/p>\n<p>When choosing a stretch wrapper consider your:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Load (pallet sizes and types, weights, dimensions, product, shipping considerations)<\/li>\n<li>Production environment (temperature, moisture, pallets\/hour, loading and unloading, film thickness, forecasts for growth)<\/li>\n<li>Other related processes (weighing, labeling, tracking)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Typically there are 80\/20 decisions to be made. For instance, if you normally wrap 20 loads\/hour but during peak shipping hours in the afternoon production doubles, that\u2019s important. If most of your loads are on 40\u201d x 48\u201d \u00a0pallets and are 60\u201d tall, but one customer requires you to wrap 96\u201d tall loads, that\u2019s critical. If 20% of your shipments are non-standard loads that each require weighing to ensure accurate paperwork, that can introduce even more choices.<\/p>\n<p>Considering the following will help to gradually exclude some machines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lantech.com\/explore-stretch-wrappers\/semi-automatic\/q-series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">turntable<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lantech.com\/\/explore-stretch-wrappers\/semi-automatic\/s-series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">straddle<\/a>\u00a0machine best? Or does it matter?<\/li>\n<li>Do\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lantech.com\/stretch-wrapping\/output\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">speed<\/a>\u00a0or line requirements dictate efficient loading, unloading, starting and stopping?<\/li>\n<li>Will the machine exchange data with other factory or warehouse systems?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And then further to refine the selection and options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How might conveyor sections improve efficiency?<\/li>\n<li>What\u2019s the benefit of weighing a load in-line?<\/li>\n<li>Does your company give operators control, or do they prefer to lock down the controls and rely on the machines to optimize wrapping?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>The Manufacturer<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>There are many different stretch wrapper manufacturers.
