Custom cases are what it’s all about!

The month of December is here, and with it comes the shipping rush for gift ordering. But not all gifts are the same size.

The weight and size of a box have a big impact on transport costs. That’s why it’s important to use the most efficient packaging to achieve the lowest shipping costs. In an e-commerce and logistics environment especially, volume reduction is an important goal.

Lantech’s Multi Format Case Erector supports this by setting up and delivering the desired size box on demand. The case erector can be equipped with up to four blank magazines, depending on the number of case sizes required.

The type of machine and specifications you need depends on the type of business.

For warehouses and small manufacturing companies, the main goal is often to automate processes. If the case erector is not part of a packaging line and there is no need to set up different case sizes interchangeably, then choose a basic machine.

Does the product require a visual or manual inspection before it goes into the case? Then opt for a modular machine with a clever combination of automation and manpower. The cases are called and formed on demand, filled by an operator and then sealed automatically.

For an e-commerce company, volume reduction is probably a key goal. Therefore, you will be working with a wide range of case sizes. In this case, a modular machine with multiple magazines is most suitable. Integrating the machine into the packaging line means the correct case size can be called, based on the size of the products.

In manufacturing and production companies, the case erector is likely to be part of a larger packaging line. You should therefore opt for a modular machine that can communicate with other machines in the line. Are you short on space? In that case opt for an inline machine with the magazine at the front. This will allow you to position the various packaging lines closer together.

There’s a lid for every pot and an automated case erector and sealer for every size of case. It saves costs and prevents damage during transport.
